First of all, all the work we had been doing on daytime naps started to pay off. For the first time since they were very new (when their nights and days were all mixed up), Sebastien and Eden started taking naps in their cribs at the same time. Not long ones, mind you, and not perfectly coordinated with each other, but a major development all the same. For the first time since they were born, I started to be able to take a shower while no one else was here to watch the babies! And twice I was even able to blow dry my hair!
Ok, so it's not perfect - most days they are both sleeping, really sleeping at the same time, for about 15 minutes. Then I do all kinds of song and dance every 5 minutes to get them to stay asleep because their sleep is very light. And often just as one is drifting off the other wakes up. But still it's progress! And it gives me hope of things to come.
"But that's day time," you might be thinking. Well, I'm not done.
On the Thursday night that week, Eden and Sebastien slept, and I mean pretty deeply slept, all night long! I'll break it down for you. Ate at 7pm, asleep by 9:30, slept until 7am! I woke up several times and checked on them. And I got up at 6am (had to majorly pump, but only did a little because I had no idea when they'd need to eat.) And I just waited for them to wake.
The next night, they went from 8pm to 8am! And so for the last week, that's our schedule. We feed them at 8pm, they're down usually by 10pm, they sleep very soundly until 3 or 4am, and then progressively lighter until 7:50 or so. Then during the day, we're on a 8-11-2-5-8 feeding schedule. It's quite nice.
Now you may notice the time of this post. Well, I get up once during the night to pump. And they are a natural alarm clock for me some time between 3:00 and 4:00.
So, conclusion: Any time I want something to get better, I'm going to write a blog post about it!
p.s.Here are a couple cute tummy time pics.

Yeah! Good to hear and just in time for you to come back to work! There is something about 3 or 4 am, Logan still starts waking about that time!
Hurray! What good babies... and gorgeous babies too, I love those pics!
Yay Yay Yay! That's SUCH great news Caryn!! I'm glad your work is paying off. I agree, 3 - 4 am is total baby time but not forever hopefully!
wow, you are doing better than me! I am still up once a night with my almost 4 year old!
Yeah friend! That's such a milestone and one that I'm sure you desperately needed. It just keeps getting better from here! They're so incredibly cute...wish I could see them (and you) more often:(
